We love it, it dazzles us, we fall in love with it. It is difficult to describe in a few words the sensations aroused in us by the orange. A food that the Mediterranean land offers us with open hands, and that in Pablo Garrigós Ibáñez We use it as a magical ingredient for some of our most genuine products, such as nougat.
If there is one thing we can highlight about the orange, it is its intense color. This citrus fruit acquires a greater luminosity when the sun reflects on its skin while resting on the orange trees.
From this skin we can also highlight its rough texturebut at the same time its soft touchwhich relaxes the fingers of our hands while caressing them.
What does the orange smell like?
And its smell, many describe it as indescribable. But we dare to put adjectives to it.
The oranges is characterized by its sweet and refreshing aromaThe fragrance is born from the mixture of different volatile compounds of natural origin, among which terpenes stand out, especially one of them: limonene. This substance is extracted from the oil of citrus peels and gives them their characteristic scent.
Another compound that adds nuances to the aroma of oranges is octyl acetate, which is found in the skin of the fruit, in small quantities.
Its flavor
Of course, we couldn't ignore the flavor. Bittersweet is possibly the term that best defines it, but we cannot ignore the acid touch that breaks that perfect balance.
Regardless of the nuances, the palate has a pleasant yet intense taste.
Chocolate and orange, two perfect flavors for each other
If there is another product that goes perfectly with the orange, it is the chocolate. Some time ago in Pablo Garrigós Ibáñez we deployed all our artisan and gastronomic artillery. We gave shape to a nougat that mixes these two foods, but to which we added some more nuances.
The caramel chocolate nougat with candied orange, Marcona almonds and pistachios is one of our most select snacks, with a genuinely gourmet character, but without losing the natural and Mediterranean essence with which we all feel identified.
They are also a real temptation orangettescandied orange peels covered with chocolate.
We invite you to taste it to discover, through your taste buds, how the orange and chocolate form a gastronomically perfect union.
